Paul Gulda (piano) and Peter Hudler (cello)
Concert on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 6pm Arles
A special concert by the famous Austrian pianist Paul Gulda accompanied by the cellist Peter Hudler with a program of French music for piano and cello: C. Saint-Saëns, M. Ravel, C. Debussy, F. Poulenc followed by an improvisation by Paul Gulda entitled Peace Now. A unique opportunity to discover pieces that were almost all composed during or shortly after wartime: C. Saint-Saëns (1872), C. Debussy (July-August 1915) and F. Poulenc (1940/1948), a choice that reminds us of the extent to which music can express hope and a harmony that transforms and transcends the human condition.
This unique concert will be held in the context of the exhibition of the Austrian photographer Christine Turnauer at the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation in Arles, organized by KLV Art Projects in partnership with the Austrian Cultural Forum.
Thursday, May 12 at 6pm
