Orlando Mostyn Owen
Landing
Orlando Mostyn Owen has been painting trees and landscapes for over two decades. Starting from his early gouaches in 1996 to the new series of trees painted in 2019 he has consistently gone back to the motive, patiently and consistently. What is striking with Orlando’s series of drawing, gouaches, paintings and mixed media exploring valleys in Umbria, pine trees in Arcachon, figue and olive trees, as well as pure landscape over time is precisely this process where the landscape becomes a part of one’s own. This exhibition held in September 2019 at the Forum in Vienna is the first retrospective of Orlando Mostyn Owen’s work on trees, landscape and nature.
Orlando Mostyn Owen is currently in residence at the Fife Arms, Braemar, Hauser and Wirth (Summer 2019). His work has been exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions across Europe.
